Warning: Impersonation Scams

Let’s learn to reframe annoyance and a little paranoia and fear into gratefulness, please.

Screenshot of a possible impersonation scam.

Should have clocked it with the fancy telegram spelling but I had rationalised that maybe it was like Tumblr or was it Instagram where you can’t send links so, Medium doesn’t allow for other platform’s namedrop? I overthought (in the wrong way, manner, and mean).

Still. I want to whine and complain that they’ve made Medium now an unsafe place but – I’m grateful instead. I am now aware that nowhere is safe (but not in an overly dramatic way; just always wise, to exercise some caution in one’s life and days) and I got away unscathed.

Either Telegram saved me from something bad or there’s something nefarious brewing and I am unawares but let’s just hope and believe that it all turned out to be an inconsequential happening (a.k.a nothing).

I was trying to be polite and came back to responses from a deleted account so ah, either Telegram deleted them or they just left me mid-scam. (Unless it’s not even a scam? Haha but it’s unlikely. Did some googling and I saw some similar to the above above screenshots swimming around.)

So,

Be warned~

Let’s all keep a lookout and I really hope that I haven’t blocked or reported the actual Mr Alex. ||

Learning to be more mindful. Alles gut :)
